Edirol Ua-5 Driver Mac Os X

Mac

If you have a Roland Edirol UA1000 that was previously running on OSX without any issues. You will find that once you upgrade your operating system to the latest OSX (Yosemite / ElCapitan etc), you Mac will fail to recognise the device. What will happen is that when you plug the USB into your mac, there will be no response from you Mac.

I called Roland to enquire but they explained that there are not supporting this kit anymore as it has been discontinued. However do not despair as you will be glad to know that i have found the solution to the issue with MAC.

First of all, you will need to download the right driver for your MAC.

For UA-1000 DRIVER VERSION 2.0.1 FOR MAC OS X 10.5 OR EARLIER – Click on http://www.roland.co.uk/support/by_product/ua-1000/updates_drivers/2378

For UA-1000 DRIVER VERSION 1.0.0 FOR MAC OS X 10.6 OR LATER – click on http://www.roland.co.uk/support/by_product/ua-1000/updates_drivers/3899

Once you have downloaded install the the right driver. If you go in ‘launchpad’, you will find a new app named ‘UA1000 control panel’. As you know if you click on that, it will come up as ‘no device’.

Edirol Drivers

In addition, a number of Edirol Audio Devices are supported natively in Mac OS X so therefore require no driver update with Tiger, namely FA-101, FA-66, UA-1X, UA-1D and UA-3D. Tiger improves on the robust audio capabilities of Panther by adding 64-bit audio file support, which effectively removes the 2GB limit on the size of an audio file. Edirol (Bellingham, Wash.) released Version 1.0 Mac OS X drivers for several of its USB audio interfaces. New drivers include: UA-700 24-bit/96kHz audio and MIDI interface with a variety of connections and Roland’s COSM microphone and guitar amp modeling; UA-5 24-bit/96kHz USB audio interface with a variety of connections and phantom power; UA-20 24-bit USB audio and MIDI interface; SD-90.
