Sign up for Quizlet Account


Click 'Create'
Choose 'Create' from the Header anywhere on Quizlet.

  1. Type a Title
  2. Choose who can see your materials.
  3. Choose who can edit your materials.
  4. What language(s) are you using? Make sure that you set both languages correctly. Accents and characters will pop up on the right.You can also select 'Chemistry' or 'Math/Symbols' as a language.
  5. Enter the Content
  6. Adding Images: You can add images for free from Flickr, but if you want to add your own that you have or find you will nee to upgrade to the $15 a year Quizlet Plus subscription. You can add images to the Definition side, with or without text. For inspiration, check out some examples of flash cards with images.
  7. Click the + for more Rows
  8. When Done-Click Create

Star 1- Import from a doc or spreadsheet by copy and pasting.

Use the search box in the header to find either the subject or a specific term that's related to what you want to study.




You can copy any public set (or private set you have access to) so you can make tweaks and save a version as your own.
Copy the Set
Click the 'Copy' button on the upper right of the main set page.

Make your changes Click DONE at the bottom
3. Create from a Document (2 column Spreadsheet works also)
Open an existing document or create one from scratch. Any word processing program will work.

NOTE: Make sure that each line has only one term and definition, which is separated by either a comma, tab, or symbol of your choice. It just has to be a consistent symbol separating the terms and definitions. Start a new line for each term and definition.
Next go to Quizlet and click 'Create.'

Fill in your Title, Description, and Subject. Choose your privacy settings.

Copy the vocab list you created during Spreadsheet Activity

Now go back to Quizlet and click 'Import Data.'

Set what you used to separate terms and definitions: tab, comma, or custom symbol.

Paste your terms and definitions in the blank white box.


Studying a set on Quizlet Site
After you've created or found a set on Quizlet, you can study it in 6 different ways.
The main set page (above) organizes everything you want to learn and the different ways you can learn it. You can click on Flashcards, Learn, Speller, Test, Scatter, or Space Race, or stay on this page for review.
Embedding on a Website
You can embed Flashcards, Speller, Learn, or Scatter mode for any public study set.
Click on the 'Embed' button under 'More Tools' on the upper right side of the set page.

The window below will pop up with all four embed codes.
TIP: I usually copy the Flashcard link. All study modes are included in a dropdown menu when embedded.
Simply click on the embed code to highlight it.
On a keyboard use either use Command + 'c' on a Mac or Ctrl + 'c' on a PC. You can also right click your mouse and select 'copy.'
By copying the Flashcard one the user will still have the choice to play the others through a drop-down.


Enter the Edit mode on the page you want to embed the Quizlet Stack

Click <HTML>

Paste Embed Code->Click Update
To Change Study Mode on Site (Lower Right Corner)

Please note that student progress is NOT tracked when they study this way. So high scores in Scatter and completion of Learn or Speller Mode will not be recorded. Students must be logged in on Quizlet.com itself for their progress to be tracked.


If you want to embed more stacks on the same page just add another EMBED CODE icon.
